Noble Heraldry in Slovenia

Collection description

The collection aims to document and present as many coats of arms of noble families as can still be found in the Slovenian territory today.

Primarily, these are carved or stone coats of arms displayed on building facades, tombstones, and memorial plaques. They also appear as identifying elements in portraits or as decorative features on functional objects. Many of these coats of arms remain unidentified or are incorrectly attributed. Therefore, a key goal of the collection is their accurate identification.

A detailed description of each coat of arms and the historical context of its creation is included under the section "Description."
